Illinois Medical District

Illinois Medical District

The Illinois Medical District (IMD) is one of the largest urban medical districts in the U.S. and is strategically located west of Chicago’s downtown core, “The Loop.” This special-use zoning district consists of 560 acres of medical research facilities, laboratories, a biotech business incubator, raw development land, universities, and more than 40 healthcare-related facilities. IMD leadership commissioned a new master plan to guide the district development and support economic growth. The master plan’s goals are to transform the IMD into a destination beyond a place of employment and healthcare by establishing guidelines to add a new level of economic vibrancy to the district, reposition obsolete facilities, maximize development and leasing opportunities, develop the remaining 30 acres of vacant land, revitalize the Chicago Tech Park, and attract top firms and talent.

Sterling Bay's Lincoln Yards

Lincoln Yards is a vibrant new development that will connect Chicagoans to over 50 acres of riverfront sitting between two of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods: Lincoln Park and Bucktown. The development of Lincoln Yards presents a defining moment for Chicago to improve a vast parcel of underutilized land to benefit residents, businesses and visitors. Farpoint's Burnham Lakefront

This mixed-use district on Chicago’s lakefront will feature new streets and public spaces stitching together office, housing, retail, cultural, educational and civic uses. Three new landscaped bridges surrounded by work spaces will connect pedestrians to the lakefront. An improved 27th Street station and proposed 31st Street station will provide transit access. Terraced, interconnected buildings create an identity for the highly-visible site with unobstructed views of Lake Michigan. An extended Cottage Grove Avenue becomes the community’s commercial corridor. For more information, please visit their website.
